PGP Followup

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

I wanted to write a quick follow-up on my post last week about the issues that I had with recovering my PGP-encrypted hard disk.

I was contacted by Nathan Liddle, one of the senior support engineers from PGP and we spoke about my experiences.  I was first off, very impressed to see PGP proactively addressing concerns by contacting me here and it was great to be able to share my feedback.

Nathan graciously listened to my story and got the takeaway of that PGP is going to try and improve their recovery disk tools, to hopefully take some of the guesswork out of the process that I had to go through.  They appreciate that I was a pretty ‘techie’ person and was able to figure it out myself, but the average user of PGP WDE may not be able to do so, and that their tools could use some improvement.

So, I’m extending a shoutout to PGP for listening to customer feedback!  Thanks!!
